Our History
Although Hornington seems like a quiet retreat now, it has a long and interesting history, with the first recorded mention of Hornington appearing in the Doomsday survey of 1086. However, a settlement at Hornington it is predicted to pre-date this, with Anglo-Saxon coins being unearther on the site, suggesting that there was a settlement at the time of the Viking raids and there was a rush to hide the wealth.
The original Hornington settlement was located down by the river Wharfe, comprising of 360 acres of arable land, 12 acres of meadow and woodland. this was a thriving village, but gradually dispersed over the centuries,

In addition to being a fabulous wedding venue and hospitality let, the flexibility of Hornington Manor means that it is also a great place to hold conferences and corporate events.
At the beginning of July we held a launch event and summer conference at the Manor, which saw nearly 200 staff visiting us from across the country, over the course of three days.
The newly converted Hornington Barn was transformed into a functional conference space. There was ample room for the company to display their latest products, as well as presentation facilities and plenty of refreshments! Of an evening, the guests enjoy

Exciting things are underway here at Hornington Manor. As you may have seen, the renovation of our wedding barn has now been completed and on 6th June, it played host to its first wedding. The lovely Laura and Mark had a fabulous weekend of celebrations here, and didn't it look fantastic!
There are still a few finishing touches to be made but it has definitely come a long way from its lambing days. We are looking forward to the up-coming weddings this summer, and are currently taking bookings for 2016 and 2017.

Read moreCountryfile Visit Hornington Manor
Hornington Manor was delighted to have received a recent visit from the prestigious Sunday night staple program Countryfile.
Hornington Manor is set within the grounds of the Harrison Spinks working farm where crops much as Hemp and Flax are grown and sheep are lovingly cared for in exchange for their fleeces, all used as filling blends in the luxury mattresses made by Harrison Spinks.
Countryfile were particularly interested in this diversification and the idea of ‘growing our own beds’ and arrived in early June, where the Adam Henson and the crew all stayed in the Manor house.
