Rachel and Dan got the party started Friday evening after the wedding rehearsal at church, where a delicious Hog Roast was served under the floodlit courtyard as guests arrived from London, America, India, and Saudi Arabia.

The day of Rachel and Dan’s wedding was actually Dan’s parents wedding anniversary- father and son have no excuse for forgetting now!

They lovingly decorated the barn with multi coloured pastel shade paper lanterns along string fairy lights expanding the full width of the wedding barn, it looked incredible! The Bridesmaids dresses in matching shades and the pastel colour theme was pulled together beautifully.

The tables were named, along with framed pictures, of Dan and Rachel’s trips around the world. Golden Gate Bridge, Santiago Bernabeu, Piazza San Marco, Eiffel Tower, Magic Kingdom. They had seen the world and wanted to celebrate it on their special day.

Dan and Rachel were polar opposites in personality. Rachel, being a solicitor, is super organised and has everything planned to the finest details. Dan works with his parents running the family Chauffeur business in London, and has a Laissez Faire approach to life which complements their relationship beautifully. They both share one main value to their life together and that’s “Live for the Moment”

With a little catch up in the west wing enjoying a glass of champagne whilst Rachel was having her makeup and hair done, I spoke about last minute details for the day as we all got excited for what was to come!

The sun shone as Rachel looking stunning, climbing into her truly beautiful wedding car, a vintage Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, adorned with a silver horse which was chauffeured by one of the wedding party as it was his granddads beloved car. Rachel herself was even more stunning though. Her beautiful wedding dress flowed elegantly behind her, whilst her veil adorned her softly curled hair draped over one shoulder.

The ceremony took place only a few miles down the road at Bolton Percy All Saints Church. The wedding party sang hymns including Amazing Grace and Give me joy in my heart.

The wedding party all walked out of the church to Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together”, where a vintage red bus was waiting to bring them back to Hornington Manor to start the celebrations.

Just enough time for a group shot, whilst enjoying Prosecco and canapes, serenaded by Rachel’s friend from university on his guitar, before the rain brought everyone inside to the beautiful barn ready for the speeches and delicious food!

The speeches were heartfelt and hilarious, Dan and his two best men Sam and Kieran, had the room rolling around with laughter, and we could soon see why the couple were so well loved! The guys had organised Dan’s stag do in Las Vegas, which was certainly one for the memory box for Dan!

The wedding breakfast was glorious as ever from Tastes Divine, with a little surprise for certain guests, who had a little present to open on their table before the main course was served. They were presented with a chef’s hat and Apron as they were chosen to carve the meat. A fabulous excuse for a photo shoot with all the chefs.

Once the evening celebrations had begun, a stunning Silver Trailer Photo Booth was set up in the courtyard which guests enjoyed all night long- we even had a quick turn and it was so fun!

The guests, and Rachel and Dan, truly had such a wonderful time singing and dancing along with their fabulous band, the Low Riders, who played a fab mix of soul and rock n’ roll.

We were exhausted behind the bar, having made so many Espresso Martini’s that we ran out of coffee! Along with our Pornstar Martinis, they went down a treat and kept everyone going until the early hours!

To the happy couple – Congratulations! We loved being part of your special day. We hope you have the most amazing honeymoon! Love, the Hornington Manor Team x
