Lou and Dan arrived at Hornington Manor very chilled and ready to start the preparations for their wedding weekend. And boy, did they have a lot to prepare!

Gift hampers went into every guest room with essentials for the weekend accompanied with little unicorn iced biscuits as one of the many treats for the lucky friends and family that had been invited to share that special time together within the house.

Lou and Dan also had a dazzling Glitter Station for their guests to indulge in for the evening, and a hilarious Beer Pong tournament was also in order!

Once Lou and Dan had chance to start decorating the barn, they transformed it with the most beautiful centrepieces designed by Allie at Wild Floral Couture. Bronze wire candle holders were filled with twinkling fairy lights and surrounded by gorgeous pink roses, carnations, eucalyptus leaves and foliage creating a ‘Secret Garden’ theme. The floral theme was topped off with beautiful dark green Ivy entwined around the four chandeliers in the barn which looked incredible! It’s not surprising that every detail was planned and executed so meticulously and beautifully, as Lou is an Events Manager herself, and certainly knows how to bring all the little elements together on the day!

When the long-awaited wedding day arrived (2 whole years later!!) both bride and Groom looked fantastic. Dan wore a grey suit with white satin tie and pocket handkerchief, while his ushers had baby pink details which, of course, tied in with the floral theme perfectly. The Bridesmaids too wore baby pink multi-way gowns which all looked stunning, and Lou’s flower girls were so pretty in their white gowns holding white roses, with flowers in their hair!

Where do we start with our beautiful bride Lou? Wearing the most stunning vintage inspired lace, beaded gown she was a vision! Her understated up-do let her floor length, delicately beaded veil take centre stage as she walked down the aisle here at Hornington with her very (very) proud dad! Lou was simply stunning.

Dan Proposed to Lou on a holiday to Reykjavik in Iceland. To honour this, Lou and her bridal party walked down the aisle to ‘Hoppipolla’ by Sigur Rós which proved to be very emotional for all of us here at Hornington, never mind the guests and Lou and Dan! ‘Hoppipolla’ is Icelandic for ‘Jumping into Puddles’ which thankfully, there was none of this on the day! Lou and Dan really wanted an outdoor ceremony in the Courtyard, but we can rely on nothing less than the Great British weather! We were able to make Lou and Dan’s dream come true by reacting on the day and setting up their ceremony under the Lych Gate on Saturday morning, once we had decided it was staying dry!

The new Mr and Mrs Curtis were photographed by the amazing Chris Wright & Jess Reniets from Wright Wedding Photography, and the whole day was lovingly captured by Tom Midgley, from Midgley Wedding Cinematography.  While Lou and Dan were whisked away for photos, their guests enjoyed drinks and canapés on the front lawn. Table tennis was in order, along with a huge bouncy castle which went down a treat with everyone, especially the grown-ups!

Guests were shortly seated in the beautiful wedding barn and were treated to a three-course feast provided by Friends 4 Dinner! Guests had a choice of three main meals including daube of beef with smoked bacon and a red wine jus, chicken breast stuffed with asparagus and Parma ham or mushroom, and camembert wellington, all served up with dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal veggies. I don’t know about you, but our mouths are watering just thinking about it! For pudding, crème brûlée, chocolate brownie and bread and butter pudding! Yes please!

Lou, Dan and their much-loved friends and family were entertained all night by soloist Ryan Snape and then later, Phil from Spectrum Discos provided the soundtrack for the evening. The whole night twinkled, from the glitter station to the fairy lights, to the sparklers enjoyed in the courtyard under the moonlight.

We had a ball at Lou and Dan’s wedding and made such good friends with all of the guests. Our brilliant bar manager Simon made such an impression (as always) wearing his Game of Thrones ‘Hand of the King’ badge come bottle opener, that Dan’s dad promised to send him all the books to read, what a lovely gesture. And that just shows how amazing everyone at the wedding was, especially Lou and Dan. They sent us a lovely thank you email once back from their honeymoon-

Hi Guys,

Happy Friday! Hope you are the gang are all good!

We have just returned from our honeymoon in Dubai and Bali and wanted to drop you a note to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU! to you and your amazing team for giving us and our family and friends the best wedding weekend! Yours and Simon’s advice, expertise and support helped to perfect our day. From the venue search nearly 2 years ago now (eeekkk!) and all supporting visits through to helping with the registrar, recommended suppliers, wine tastings and flawless execution on the day thank you so much for bringing our wedding vision to life. All our guests and suppliers couldn’t speak highly enough of you and Simon on the day and leading up to it and Dan and I felt very privileged to work with such an amazing team!  As an events manager myself, it is sometimes hard to switch off especially when running your own event. However, I knew that our day was in the best hands and that peace

of mind ensured that I was super relaxed all day! So from the bottom of our hearts thank you xx

Lots of love and hugs from Lou & Dan (AKA the new Mr & Mrs Curtis) 💕💕 xx

P.s our guests would also like to give Simon a special mention for the tequila hangovers they all suffered from the next day! Haha! 😂

Dan and Lou truly are a couple that will always be part of our extended family here at Hornington Manor, with memories that we will treasure for a long time of how special and fun loving they are.
