Rebecca and Matty were the most fantastic couple and we were all so looking forward to their big wedding celebration arriving at Hornington Manor! The couple arrived with their nearest and dearest to set up and dress the wedding barn beautifully on the Friday morning and so shortly after lunch it was complete.

With the help of their venue stylist My Something Borrowed, who provided all of the exquisite props and decorations, it was all hands-on-deck, resulting in one of the quickest and least stressful set ups we’ve seen at Hornington Manor so far!

Rebecca had arranged through My Something Borrowed for beautiful gold sequin tablecloths and a fantastic array of vases, candelabras and photo frames to dress each table, while their card table was topped with a stunning white blossom tree and letterbox. Their seating plan took the form of a huge ornate golden mirror greeting guests as they entered the wedding barn.

Rebecca and Matty meticulously planned every detail – from the basket of flip flops on the dancefloor in case the guest’s dancing shoes were proving troublesome, to the string of Polaroid photographs detailing miniature moments from the day on the mezzanine. Once the flowers had arrived and the finishing touches had been put to the proceedings, the end result was breath-taking

As Saturday morning arrived, the July sunshine was glorious. A classic vintage double decker London bus, supplied by Yorkshire Heritage Bus, arrived to take the guests to the church, whilst Rebecca, her father and her bridesmaids had some photos taken by the wonderful Natasha from Howarth Miller in the courtyard. The flower girls looked magical dressed as pastel pink fairies, complete with their own wands! The page boys were very dapper in their full Scottish kilts, bringing a touch of the Scottish highlands down to Hornington Manor.

Rebecca’s bridesmaids were dressed in elegant satin floor length gowns from Ghost, while Rebecca looked radiant in her A Line, Bardot style satin gown, complete with pockets!

On their return from the church, guests had a group photo in the courtyard before heading to the front lawn to enjoy Pimm’s, beers and prosecco in the sunshine. Canapés were served by Snack, Crackle and Hog whilst in the background their saxophonist Caroline played some fantastic tunes which really set the atmosphere for the rest of the day to come.

Matty was full of praise for his new wife in his speech, and the guests were all in agreeance that she had done a fantastic job in successfully organising the whole day down to the finest details.

The new Mr and Mrs Haddock treated their guests to traditional Fish and Chips for the wedding breakfast, which was fantastically fitting (and delicious). Another nod to Rebecca and Matty’s marital name were the favours- a little bag of white chocolate fish, complete with the label ‘There are two less fish in the sea’ which melted our hearts at Hornington!

Rebecca and Matty’s stunning cake, supplied by a family friend, looked far too good to eat (but no doubt tasted as good as it looked) and was proudly on display next to the sweet stall.

The Young Guns provided entertainment for the evening, and guests danced away the hours before the evening food arrived, in the shape of a hog roast in the courtyard supplied by Sizzle and Snout, which was run by Rebecca’s cousin. They made sure that no one left hungry that night!

The night was a roaring success and it was clear to see the love that Rebecca and Matty had for their guests. Everyone had an amazing time, and so did we. What a fabulous couple and what a pleasure it was for you to share your special day with us. From everyone at Hornington, we hope you had the most perfect wedding weekend and enjoyed your honeymoon in Dubai and Bali!
