The Wedding Party moved in on the Friday prior to the wedding and immediately the party mode was in full swing, as it too was Katie’s 30th birthday.

The wedding barn was decorated with beautiful sunflowers matching the glorious sunny weather for this special occasion, which were supplied by Katie’s Auntie.

Each table was named after roller coaster rides and the three tier wedding cake matched this fun theme by being amazingly shaped and decorated to replicate the Big Dipper ride. It even had Richard and Katie in fits of laughter hurtling down in one of the carriages.

The happy couple arrived back from saying their vows at Bramham Church in an electric blue vintage Vauxhall D X 14-6 1937,  provided and owned by Katie’s dad.

The sun was shining, photographs were taken and everyone was enjoying Pimm’s and canapes on the front lawn. It is always a delight for the staff to see everyone enjoying the beautiful setting we have here at Hornington Manor.  Guests had travelled all over the globe to enjoy these settings, including Dubai!

Once the drinks and canapés were relished guests took their seats and Katie was suddenly in tears of emotion. She had spotted our surprise on the table from the Hornington Manor team – a beautiful gift hand painted with their names, Hornington Manor, and the date of their wedding day. It even included scenes of the countryside here at Bolton Percy and our sheep, all in magnificent detail and all hand painted by a local artist. Each beautiful vase is unique and a one off, with no replicas.

Katie’s Dad was the first with the speeches thanking everyone and expressing how he and his wife Lynn were pleased to welcome Richard into their family. He mentioned they had the complete family; two beautiful daughters, beautiful granddaughters and now two son- in-laws.

Richard was next with the speeches, up on his feet thanking all the guests along with both parents and his new family. He had an extra special thank you to his Dad for being a double parent to him in his teens when they lost Mum, adding that they must have done a pretty decent job in turning him out! If it hadn’t have been for his Dad and Sue’s successful parenting he wouldn’t have managed to find himself such a beautiful wife and the love of his life. He remarked that this had taken him a few years and a receding hair line to find the woman of his dreams!

Lorraine was thanked for the beautiful flower arrangements in the church, and lots of thank you gifts were given out to the bridesmaids Kayleigh and Jess, the page boy Kyle, and not forgetting the gorgeous flower girls Lilly, Darcy, Jorgie, and Mia.

The best men, brother Jon and friend Michael were thanked, as well as Chris for looking after the two troublesome best men and making sure they were sensible enough when planning the stag do.

The best men had guests in fits of laughter with their humorous patter and tales of antics growing up together. These speeches are always a happy way of getting everyone in the party spirit – and it was just that! It was such a beautiful wedding with everyone partying and dancing, a marvellous three day event enjoyed by all guests who had stayed here at Hornington Manor.

Congratulations to the happy couple and we all at Hornington Manor wish them the best for the future!
