How fortunate are we to be chosen by such lovely people to have their special day with us. Joe and Laura’s wedding was a fine example.

They decorated our wonderful barn with such beautiful detail. Glittering candles inside hurricane lamps led the way to their ceremony which was so perfect with their friends and family looking on.

The readings during the ceremony were exceptional which I couldn’t help but to recite to you now :-

Dreams

“We all have dreams. From the youngest age we dream of what we might be when we grow up, and that sense of ambition or aspiration endures.

For the longest time dreams are about things. I want to do something: I want to be something: I want to own something. But then one day a dream walks into our life in the form of a person, and everything changes. Dreams no longer seem like a goal to be reached, they’re a future to build together, they’re family and they’re filling your world with memories.

It might take some time to adjust to this. Maybe you have to wrestle with the idea that all those dreams you had growing up just don’t seem as important anymore. And it’s not that they aren’t, it’s just that you’ve changed, and ultimately that’s a great thing. You are investing in people and lives. And what can mean more than that?

So keep dreaming. Dream big. Dream as big as you can possibly imagine. Because when your dreams are the people you love, they’ll come true every day.”

Laura’s Father spoke of her childhood pranks with her elder brother and how she was always the bossy one but most of all he spoke about how pleased they were as parents for her to meet such a wonderful man as Joe. Joe ‘ticked all the boxes’ and they themselves could not have chosen a better man for her.

Joe’s speech was hilarious, even when he didn’t mean to be and by his own admission, he was characteristic of Alan Partridge!

Towards the end of the reception, I was approached by a lovely guest, called Janet who complimented each and every one of the staff at Hornington Manor for all the hard work and service which was given to everyone at the wedding. “Hornington Manor was the perfect venue for a Wedding”. She went on to say that having just celebrated her son’s wedding in a marque on the front lawn at home, she had realized just how much work goes into the preparation for the perfect day.

A lot of preparation does go in to a wedding, but when you see the happy bride and groom at the end of it, it’s all worth it!

From the whole team at Hornington Manor, we’d like to wish you all the best, and a happy married life.

A little blog from the groom…

“Words cannot begin to describe how we feel about our wedding at Hornington Manor, but we will give it a go!

From the moment we set our eyes on the barn and house we fell in love with it, and leading up to the wedding Joanne and Simon were there, every step of the way to help us make sure everything went how we wanted it to.

At Hornington Manor you get stunning accommodation, and the barn is absolutely beautiful. It is the perfect place to create your ideal wedding. You can dress the barn how you like, bring in which ever caterers you like, and you can even have the manor house and grounds to yourselves for the weekend. This freedom and space allowed us to create our dream wedding, and with the help of Joanne and Simon, plus our amazing caterers- Black Peppermint Food Company (plus a few other crucial people!)  our weekend went from being our dream wedding, to something we never knew was even possible.

You can create your own bespoke wedding with enough guidance that you don’t feel out of your depth, and there was a ‘home from home’ feeling around the place which really helped keep us relaxed. We  are still in a state of euphoria as we write this which I’m sure will last a lifetime.

It was the perfect setting for our winter wedding, and all of our guests had an absolute blast. We had so many comments on the day about how incredible the venue is, many people saying it’s the best wedding venue they’d ever seen, which we also believe.

We’ll never forget the service, freedom, and dreams that were created with our family and friends during our stay at Hornington Manor, and we can’t thank everyone involved enough!” – Joe Bothamley
