Lucy and Andrew live in London, but Lucy is originally from Yorkshire which is why they chose to celebrate their special day at Hornington Manor.

The weather was not playing nicely in the week building up to the wedding day and unfortunately as the weekend arrived, the dark grey clouds continued to loom over Hornington Manor. Therefore, Lucy made the decision to hold their ceremony inside the wedding barn, followed by a drinks reception in Hornington Gallery overlooking the field of sheep, with their young lambs at their feet.

As I waited in the Manor, I heard all the girls, along with Lucy’s mum and dad, burst into song just before they all came down the West Wing staircase.

Lucy looked absolutely stunning in a shimmering gold wedding gown. Each of her bridesmaids wore different dresses, unique to their own individual style, but they all completemented Lucy’s gown perfectly.

The heavens opened just as Lucy and her bridesmaids were making the short walk from the Manor to the wedding barn, so we escorted them into the venue under various Harrison Spinks umbrellas.

A word which Andrew used later in the day to describe Lucy was ‘style’ and I couldn’t agree more, especially once I saw how Lucy had decorated the venue. The wedding barn had been completely transformed into a totally unique, utterly stylish space with ivy flowing over the bare brick walls and two huge floral displays hanging from the ceiling. Lucy is obviously a very creative person, and after watcing Andrew climb 30ft ladders the day before their celebrations, she has found the person that can make her visions come to life.

It was a truly beautiful, personal ceremony which I shall remember for a long time. Andrew and Lucy wrote almost every spoken word themselves, sharing with their guests all the little things they loved about each other.

After the ceremony, the guests moved into the Hornington Gallery where wonderful canapés were served, created by Andy and his fabulous, friendly team whilst we offered various gin and tonics, beers and Prosecco to the guests. Tim was busy taking beautiful photos of the couple with their family and friends at various spots around the grounds.

Their wedding breakfast was served back in the barn which had been re-dressed with tables in place as Lucy and Andrew had originally planned, before their last minute decision to also hold their ceremony in the barn.

It was a wonderful evening of speeches, laughter and dancing to 90s power ballads! Lucy’s creativity shone throughout the whole day and it was filled with so much energy, suiting the lovely couple perfectly. We would like to wish Lucy and Andrew a very happy future together.
