After a lovely service at the Tockwith Church, the newly wed bride and groom arrived at the Manor in a vintage Volkswagen soft top. How super this was to be able to travel with the top down, it was the perfect start to the perfect day…

Hannah looked absolutely beautiful in her dress of satin and lace. Alongside her were her two bridesmaids who wore a delicate shade of pink, matching perfectly with the roses in their bouquets. The two younger girls looked so pretty in their white dresses and little fur boleros, I’m sure they felt like princesses, as they certainly looked like ones!

Not forgetting James, the handsome groom who looked grand in his attire with his best man.

Pimms and prosecco along with canapés from our much loved Friends 4 Dinner, awaited the wedding party on arrival. This was the perfect time for everyone to have a chat and get to know each other prior to the wedding breakfast meal.

Hannah’s father Steven was quite the joker when giving the first of the speeches, Hannah looked on with trepidation, wondering what he was going to come out with next. The father and daughter bond was very plain to see, especially when he was telling everyone stories of how she was such a rebellious teenager, untruths of the ASBOs, the binge drinking and the police knocking on the door – of course which was all a joke! He ended his speech with all the words of a loving, caring father.

Hannah and James are members of Wetherby Musical Theatre group and are massive fans of Tom Jones, which prompted Steven to ask the guests if they would like to hear James singing one of his songs, of course everyone was eager for his special treat. James had a wonderful voice and away he went with two verses of ‘The Green Green Grass of Home’, everyone was enthralled and you could of heard a pin drop! In true Tom Jones style, a number of the female guests (who had come prepared) showered him with ladies underwear whilst he sang – this caused raucous laughter.

James was next to say his thanks to all the guests and presented presents to the bridesmaids, (which were handmade by Hannah’s Mum), and various people including the lady who had made their beautiful wedding cake.

Maria, Hannah’s Mum had attended classes in making jewelry, she made both their wedding rings with her own hallmark engraved on the inside – how special is that!

The Raisers Band were a massive hit, and the dancing started with the first one being, ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You’ which the lead singer played on acoustic guitar as a solo.

Everyone had a fabulous time with all the jollities of the perfect wedding. I’d like to wish Mr & Mrs Gray all the happiest of married lives!
