Sally and Avtar (AJ)’s big weekend had arrived. On Friday, having hired a big van carrying all their belongings, Aj and Sally arrived to make Hornington Manor their home for their weekend of special wedding celebrations.

With Sally and all her helpers hard work, the Hornington barn was soon transformed into the perfect venue for the couple to host their wedding and celebrate with very excited friends and family. A lot whom had already arrived to enjoy the Friday evening with the couple, no doubt to make the most of the manor for the weekend and to help calm their nerves before the big day on Saturday.

The sun shone early Saturday morning and whilst myself and my team where arranging the chairs on the front lawn for their 126 guests, Sally was having her makeup and hair done in the big West wing’s 2nd bedroom. The window was open so she could keep an eye on proceedings, to make sure everything looked as perfect as she had visualised over all the months planning for this very day.

The aisle was defined by a floral arch and little pots of decorated flowers that Sally had lovingly created and placed on the front lawn, where the ceremony was taking place. It created an idyllic setting for Sally’s Dad to escort her down the isle to meet the man she couldn’t wait to marry.  A pastel coloured bouquet of roses, by Fiona at Heaven Scent florist complimented Sally’s stunning look and her beautiful fishtail wedding gown.

The string trio shaded under the fabulous imposing walnut tree near the ha-ha wall and entertained the party throughout the drinks reception on the lawn and the wedding ceremony.

Meanwhile Arun and his team served delicious canapé treats to all the guests, and provided everyone with a little teaser of what he was preparing for the wedding breakfast to come.

At 4pm, after the beautiful lawn ceremony was over with and the vows had been said, everyone welcomed Sally and AJ into the wedding barn. Soon the room was filled with chatter and laughter and the sounds of the wedding party enjoying the wonderful Indian food. I tried the Kofte which was served as a starter and was divine.

Dessert buffet was as always appreciated, with the wonderful sweet delights baked by our lovely Lois.

Sally and AJ enjoyed a glass of Prosecco and toasted the cutting of the cake which was a glorious 3 layered sight.

The DJ Nav at Kudos DJs did a fabulous job of MCing for the evening celebrations and I’ve got to say that most of the guys did not get off the dance floor; they were having a fabulous time dancing the night away. Everyone dancing was so infectious, even our Hornington team behind the bar were joining in with them and I so enjoyed watching the joy on everyone’s faces.

The celebrations at Hornington Manor were only half the story for Sally and AJ, as this was only their English wedding. The Indian celebrations and blessing was the following week, and I would have loved to see the wonderful, colourful display that would no doubt be.
