Nothing could stop this wedding day from being absolutely fabulous -not even the later part of storm Brian, which tried it’s hardest with the gale force winds and the torrential rain. It didn’t matter one little bit.

Liz and Simon along with their families decorated the wedding barn with an incredible life size tree adorned with coloured glass candle holders and fairy lights which looked amazing standing in the middle of the glass doors of the wedding barn.

A huge 3 tier fountain decorated with coloured lights shone through the cascading water flowing from the top tier creating a beautifully romantic magical scene.  These props were provided by Event Prop Hire, and Liz’s daughter-in-law who works there.

The tables were dressed with colourful flowers and wild foliage, everything that was capable of holding water were filled with flowers, which were then placed inside the decorative bird cages and looked amazing.

Tables were named with Liz’s favourite drinks and favours were boxes of delicious samples of fudge for all the guests to enjoy.

Liz looking stunning and regal in her mulberry shade full length cape, over her handmade dress that Liz and her seamstress designed to fit perfectly with the theme of the whole occasion. Her bridesmaids were in beautiful evening gowns of the same shade of mulberry. Liz walked down the aisle with her 2 sons by her side, to meet Simon, waiting eagerly with his 3 sons as his best men.

The ceremony was full of fun and surprises as Liz and Simon sang to each other the beautiful words of ” sunshine in Leith” with special meaning for them both. I do believe there were a few people with a tear in their eye with emotion, including mine I must say.

Time for the signing of the register and yet another surprise treat from Liz’s son who played the guitar and sang to the guests.

Lots of happiness and laughter jollied around the room with bottles being uncorked and the Prosecco flowing, along with all the scrumptious canapes handed out, and then the sit-down meal also provided by the Friends 4 Dinner caterers.

The fantastic band Dominic Halpin and the Honey B’s was the perfect way to finish off the spectacular wedding party. Liz, Simon and their guests danced long into the night, and it’s safe to say, Storm Brian was long forgotten!

We have made a true friendship with Liz and Simon and their family and truly wish them all the happiness in the world as Mr and Mrs.
