Jacob and Alexandra's Wedding at Hornington Manor

Alexandra looked a stunning sight as she made her way down the Manor’s staircase in her beautiful gown. Draping behind her was the most gorgeous long veil, complemented by some fabulous green shoes which supported the Irish contingency and theme that ran throughout the wedding. The Irish theme was evident in the wedding, from Groom Jacob’s green suit, to the guests attending the wedding.

Ireland wasn’t even the furthest distance travelled to Hornington this weekend, with guests venturing all the way from Canada, Germany and the not –so-far Newcastle and Scotland.

The bridesmaids, Marianne and Harriett looked beautiful in gold gowns which complemented the green accents throughout the wedding. Jacob and his three accompanying groomsmen had buttonholes of Lily of the Valley in their varying grey and brown suits.

Mass was concluded and the newly married couple made their way back to Hornington Manor to celebrate their marriage with their guests. Delicious drinks and canapés were served, beautifully complemented by Alexandra’s brothers Tom, who played the acoustic guitar for everyone.

After the ceremony had taken place it was time to take the celebrations to the barn ready for a delicious banquet provided by Friends 4 Dinner. Friends for dinner served a fabulous fare of antipasti, fish and chips and a trio of deserts lemon posset, chocolate brownie and apple and blackberry crumble.

Everyone sat around tables which had been thoughtfully named after every year they have been together since 2007.

The speeches had us all in a mixture of emotions from stitches to weeping! Jacobs’s dad had us all in tears as he was so emotional when he was trying to read his speech, he just couldn’t get his words out.

Alexandra’s told the wedding guests how he had met Jacob a decade ago whilst he and Alexandra were school friends and told Catherine, Alexandra’s mum that he would be his future son in law. Little did he know, he was so very right!

After the first Ceilidh dance, the cheese and cake the evening celebrations took place, with an array of electric music put together in a playlist by Alexandra, consisting of Irish dance music to Slayer and Limp Biscuit.

The happy bride and groom left early Monday morning for the airport to have an adventurous honeymoon in Bali. The Hornington Manor team wishes the newly married couple all the happiness in the world.
