Friday, Saturday and Sunday; three spread sheets with various fun and games planned for the weekend were sent to me by Katie as I begun co-ordinating the wedding. This wasn’t just a one day wedding celebration; this was a whole weekend of festivity ahead.

The first element of the fun-filled weekend to arrive at the Manor was the hot tub, along with the builders, arriving to craft the arch which was placed upon the front lawn, later to be beautifully decorated by Rachel’s flowers.

Rachel from OwlHouseFlowers was back again, with her beautiful array of flowers, to create a very natural and country feel to Katie and Andrew’s wedding. The arch, the aisle for Katie to walk down, the Lychgate and inside the wedding barn, were all decorated  with rings of natural wild flowers, all which had been grown by Rachel herself.

The Bride, Katie, being a designer herself, had been extremely creative with the finishing touches to her wedding, using extra lighting where she could, to make the most out of the barn and courtyard.

Great twelve foot Birch trees were brought into the wedding barn and decorated with tiny twinkly lights and a scented stocked base. Hornington Manor looked a stunning picture.

The big day arrived and although it was a little windy, the weather having previously promised thunder storms, was magnificent. Catherine, their pianist, positioned on the front lawn played beautiful music to the wedding guests as they anticipated the Bride’s great walk down the aisle, through to the newly built arch overlooking the Haha wall and onto the sheep field below. Even our lambs, overlooking the ceremony joined in with the sounds of Catherine, suddenly becoming very vocal when everybody stood to sing within the ceremony.

Katie and Andrew requested that I take them to have their photo taken near the hemp and surrounding wild flower fields. I would have loved to take them on our Hornington Manor quad but sadly didn’t want to risk Katie’s beautiful dress getting dirty, so instead took them in my car. I was eager to see what pictures Erin Beck their fab photographer, could capture using the striking surroundings and the lovely couple.

Katie had requested on her invitations that all the male wedding guests were welcome to wear the loudest, flowery shirts and suits, whilst ladies with the most elaborate hats they could find, and I can happily say nobody let them down! Their guests had every colour under the sun, worn with pride for Mr and Mrs Edwards’s special day.

Sam at Bears Pantry did a wonderful delicious job of feeding everyone goodness they couldn’t keep their paws off, from supplying canapes on the front lawn, to filling the wedding guests with a selection of alternative and rustic food within the relaxed settings of the wedding barn.

“The River Band” made sure the guests weren’t left sitting down, getting everyone in the celebratory spirit, securing the evening celebrations were off to an entertaining and energetic start for everyone.

Sunday awakens with the saddened feeling the big day is over for Katie and Andrew, but as the most beautiful sunny day unfolded, there was little time to grieve the end of Saturday, as the Giant Battleships game arrived for a day of fun on the front lawn!

Monday morning came around all too quickly, with nobody wanting to leave after such a memorable weekend of celebrations, but I hope the gloom of leaving is made a little easier by the fond memories of Mr and Mrs Edwards’s special wedding weekend.
