This week, we are re-living the wonderful wedding weekend of Tebo and Rebecca.

Tebo is Head Pastor of the Living Hope Church in Birmingham, where they are both regular worshippers, whilst Rebecca is a speech therapist.

When Rebecca and Tebo first came to the Manor to have a little look around before they booked, Tebo was so overwhelmed with emotion, he began to sing. It was truly lovely as he has a fabulous singing voice and it gave me a taste of all the fun that would be to come at their wedding.

Everybody was so excited as they arrived at Hornington Manor on the weekend of the wedding, and soon after they arrived, Tebo and Rebecca set about transforming the wedding barn.  Friends of Rebecca’s Mum and Dad did the flowers for them and oh my word how wonderful did they look in the wedding barn! It never ceases to amaze me how every bride makes the venue their own and creates something totally unique to them. From the big creative decisions to the smaller, finer details, the whole barn complemented our lovely couple’s personality perfectly.

Tebo’s dad is from South Africa, and he only found out his visa had come through on the Tuesday before his Friday flight! With friends and family arriving from all over the world, Rebecca and Tebo retreated for the evening, ready for a day full of celebrations the next day.

After a wonderful wedding day, the couple moved their celebrations into the barn for their wedding breakfast. As part of the speeches, all the men from the top table stood up and sang which I image was tradition. Then it was Tebo’s turn, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room as he sang the praises of his beautiful new bride, who truly did look every bit the English rose but with the spirit of a warrior as she supported him whilst he set up his new church in Birmingham. It was evident that the room was so full of love and admiration for our special couple.

After a wonderful three course meal from The Hog and Apple, the evening celebrations commenced with fantastic music provided by one of Tebo’s friends. As soon as the music started, it was very clear this party knew how to enjoy themselves. They even grooved up to the bar for a drink, not wanting to stop for a minute!

The evening came to an end all too early for our guests, but with more celebrations to enjoy on Sunday, they took themselves off to their “gorgeous beds” as Tebo’s sister described hers.

Sunday was spent on the front lawn and Tebo’s family dressed Rebecca and her mum in traditional African dress. This was a wonderful for Rebecca and her mum to experience, whilst also giving them the chance to spend some quality time getting to know Tebo’s family.

On Monday morning, Rebecca and Tebo set off early to spend a honeymoon in Mexico. On their return, they will be moving into their new home and start their wonderful life together as man and wife.

I spoke to Rebecca’s Mum shortly after the wedding and we both said we felt a sense of bereavement that it was all over, but what an amazing weekend it was!
